Hull City V Arsenal

Now that the league has been sealed by Chelsea, there is a lot that needs to improve in the Arsenal squad. But for now the its about finishing the league strong and qualifying for the Champions league and also retaining the FA cup. Another part will be proving themselves against United and showing that next year could mean business. They were frustrated in the reverse of the fixture, but form has been consistent and they will take a great deal of confidence to the KC this time.  For Hull a point from the game would be amazing as it helps to keep the regulation fight going. The timely win against Liverpool was a good win and has really helped there camping for survival. It’s evidence once again of how much of a difference back-to-back wins can make in the battle to survive in the top flight. Ten days ago after a run of only two points from 18, the concerns were huge, but if they can win for the third time in a row in the top flight, for just the second time in their history they could stay up.

Team line ups

Half Time Nil – 3

First phase of the first half Hull looked very good and made it look as though it would be a tough fight for the Gunners. With heavy challenges for the ball and picking the ball up down the wing and knocking it in to the box and causing danger but none of this really leading to anything with no shots on target. Arsenal switched on though after a deflected free kick from Sanchez went into the back of the net leaving the keeper Harper just standing there. Then it became the Arsenal way quick intricate passes that got opportunities to create a goal. A little flick of the ball from the Cazorla saw Ramsey hit the ball into the bottom corner. Another great move from Ramsey saw Sanchez into the box and able to completely beat the keeper as he came charging off his line. There will defiantly be more goals in this game as both Özil and Sanchez has saves from attempted shots on goal, and great passes between the mid field. Hull have threatened so Arsenal need to be wary of not allowing those wing back to get too much time to shoot.

Full Time- 1- 3

It was a scrappy end to end second half, Arsenal started it off as they finished the second half. But as time went on the gas was lessened and the player started to play a bit more sloppy. There was some good chance to for Arsenal from Sanchez, Giroud, Özil and Cazorla. Wilshire also got a bit of game time and showed what he can do from the beginning making them big runs into key positions but he also showed why he gets injured not passing at the right time and get a lot of fouls made on his legs. Giroud was a bit ineffective this game which is worrying as he has dropped off in the last few games. Sanchez was fantastic in this game also he managed to play well and nearly got his Hattrick and was desperate to get it as the last attempt showed with Wallcott in a better scoring position.Hull did very well for a short spell of the match creating lots of chances and they managed to get a goal when Koscielny was down injured. Quinn’s header gave Hull hope, but the defeat sees them slip to fourth-bottom on goal difference.

But Arsenal need to continue collect confidence and momentum to win the FA cup and set up the summer to prepare for the next season and really challenge for the title.

Anyway till next time…
